5/5 ⭐ | Sticks and Stones (Book 1: A Cameron Stone Action Thriller) by Thomas LeBrun

Author Thomas LeBrun himself is no stranger to Close Protection Services.  Having spent his career protecting others, it is no surprise his characters are centered around this same profession.  A livelihood such as this is often lived in the shadows, training, staying knowledgeable, and protecting those that need you. “Sticks and Stones” is a thrilling read, no stranger to nefarious plots.

I loved the dual stories going on within the pages of this quick and exciting read.  Beginning with Edmond Raines life and the fateful bombing that killed his wife, and likely young son, although a body was never found, in 1991.  And ending in Mount Sinai hospital, “Sticks and Stones” never lacked for action.  With an inside, and front row seat to the Close Protection Services, this book was an eye-opening thrill ride.

From Edmond Raines rediscovering himself after the devastating loss of his family, and Cameron Stone’s life in the protective services.  The expert knowledge, situational awareness, and LeBrun brings to the page make for a realistic page-turning read.  Housing a Grand Master, Tosh Yokahama, the young and talented Cameron Stone, and even Stone’s love interest, Sara, the characters within are diverse and harness skills unrivaled as they are put to the test.

From New York to Australia, Kazakhstan, and back, close protection specialists travel the world putting their lives on the line for those who hire them.  Cameron Stone and Edmond Raines kick the door wide open for readers to experience the action, danger, and situational encounters present in their line of work.  All while seeking to uncover the truth and protect those they love most.
